 The Geographical Location of Jordan

 

Jordan is situated in the Continent of Asia, bordering with Syria to the North, Iraq to the east, Saudi Arabia to the South & East, Israel and the west bank to the west.

The geographical coordinates are between latitudes 29° and 34° North, and longitudes 35° and 40° East

 

Jordan occupies a land area of around 93000 square kilometers and a water area of around 330 square kilometers.

 

The Climate of Jordan

 

Jordan climate is Semi-dry, with Long-Hot summers, and Short-Cool winters, It is humid from November to March and semi-dry for the rest of the year.

January is the coldest month in the year, with temperatures from 5°C to 15°C during the daylight, and August is the hottest month with temperatures between 28°C to 40°C during the daylight

 

The Currency of Jordan

 

The local National currency is the Jordanian Dinar, (the symbol is JD)

 

The Banknotes are 1, 5, 10, 20 & 50 JD.

The Coins are 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 25, & 50 Piasters

 

Every 1 JD is equal to 100 Piasters

 

Currency can be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, and the daily Exchange rates can be found at the Jordanian Central Bank Website.

 

The Population of Jordan

 

Regarding the Department of Statistics in Jordan, the Estimates population of Jordan by the 5th of June 2014 is 6,591,689.

Almost 20 % of the population are living in the Capital Amman.

Religions

 

Country's official Religious is Sunni Muslim 92%, Christian 6% (majority Greek Orthodox, but some Greek and Roman Catholics, Syrian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Armenian Orthodox, and Protestant denominations), other 2% (several small Shia Muslim and Druze populations)

Entry Visa to Jordan

 

Any Foreigner entering Jordan is required to obtain a Visa, and need a passport valid for at least 6 months following the arrival date. 

Certain Nationalities can obtain their Visa at Q.A Airport on the arrival day, but other nationalities are required to obtain the visa prior the arrival date from the Jordanian consulates or embassies in their countries.

 

-The cost of single Entry visa is 40 JD, valid for 60 days from the date of issuance. Please apply only within 60 days of your date of travel. and allows Maximum 30 days stay in Jordan.

 

-The cost of double Entry visa is 60 JD, valid for three months

 

-The cost of multiple Entry visa is 120 JD, valid for six months

 

All travelers need a passport valid for at least 6 months following the arrival date.

 

Groups of 5 persons or more arriving through our travel agency are exempt from all visa charges, provided the group arrives and departs together as well as staying a minimum of 2 nights in Jordan. 

 

Arrivals at Aqaba, either through the port, the airport or at the crossing from Israel or Saudi Arabia, are granted a free visa to Jordan. There is no obligation associated with this visa, provided that they leave the country from the same border and within 1 month of arrival, and that they do not need to renew their visa.

 

Those holding an ASEZ visa and wishing to stay longer than 1 month must extend it at the ASEZA office in Aqaba and not with their local police station as holders of a normal visa would.

 

Exit service fee applies for land and sea border points. 10.00 JD per passenger and 5.00 JD per vehicle.

Algeria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Lesotho, Libya, Malawi, Mauritius, São Tomé and Príncipe, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tunisia, Zimbabwe, Kenya.
